According to the results of 2023, the international airport “Muscat” in Oman was recognized as the best in the world. The Brazilian Recife/Guararapis International Airport and the Cape Town International Airport in South Africa took second and third place, respectively, writes Bloomberg concerning a survey by AirHelp Inc. among almost 16 thousand passengers, which took place from January 1 to September 30. More than 4,000 airports have been studied in the worldwide database.
Experts took into account the timeliness of flights at each airport, as well as customer feedback about airport navigation, dining, and shopping opportunities.
Journalists note that Japan and Brazil generally dominate the ranking of airport efficiency, each of these countries having three points in the top 10. Only three U.S. airports made the world’s top 50: Minneapolis St. Paul (#13), Seattle/Tacoma, (#34), and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (#38).
Among European airports, only nine entered the top 50. The airport of Bilbao in the north of Spain took the first place in Europe.
“Not only airlines but also airports are responsible for the comfort of travel. This year, airports in Asia have demonstrated high performance,” AirHelp noted.
