Moldova plans to restore and launch an international airport in the city of Marculesti in the north of the country. This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Moldova.
It is noted that work on the project has already started. Whether the airport will be used only for domestic flights or will begin to serve flights abroad to unload the only operating international airport in Chisinau, has not yet been reported.
Remind me that the Marculesti airport was opened in 2004 based on a military unit. In 2018, the Ministry of Defense transferred the air harbor to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
