An American Airlines passenger almost managed to open the plane’s emergency door while in motion. The man was immobilized by neighbors and crew members, then removed from the flight. The New York Post writes about it.
The incident occurred on board a Delta airliner that was about to take off from Salt Lake City Airport. According to eyewitnesses, 32-year-old passenger Michael Brandon DeMarr had a mental health crisis – the man laughed and cried at the same time. He also began to talk about world conspiracy theories and prove to his fellow travelers the harm of coronavirus vaccines.
Later, the American tore off the plastic protection from the handle and pulled it with force, while the liner was already on the move and preparing to take off.
“The squeal of the wind and the change in pressure were felt by everyone on board. We were lucky that the stewardess who was standing nearby was able to quickly navigate and slam the door, ”said the passenger.
The crew members immobilized the violent American, and the passengers looked after him until the arrival of the police. Demarr was charged with endangering life and safety and interfering with the flight crew.
