The Italian authorities have decided to lift the last covid restrictions on the entry of foreign tourists. The corresponding decree was published by the Ministry of Health of the Republic on Tuesday.
According to the text of the document, from June 1, when crossing the Italian border, travelers will not need to present a Green Pass. Entering foreigners are exempted from the requirement to carry covid certificates, certificates of illness, or PCR test results.
In addition, from June 15, the end of the mask regime in force in the country is expected. Personal protective equipment will be required only in public transport and when visiting medical facilities.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Health, the easing of covid restrictions was made possible due to a sharp decrease in the number of new COVID-19 infections detected daily in the republic. On Monday, their number throughout the country did not exceed 8.5 thousand cases, while in January the figure was 200 thousand.
