A travel influencer opened up about an unusual scam by gullible tourists in Italy, and her video got a response on social media. The comments suggested several options for resolving the conflict situation.
On her TikTok page, traveler Carrie Ireland shares life hacks and inspirational videos from her many trips. The blogger shot one of her latest and most useful videos on a busy street in Florence.
The girl said that there are not only many tourists from different countries, but also street artists trying to make money on vacationers. According to Ireland, “this is where the most common visitor fraud occurs.”

According to her video, the main scammers are precisely the artists whose work usually lies on the ground.
“Street creators lay out their paintings under the feet of passers-by on purpose – so that one of them will definitely step on it. Then the indignant artist demands payment from the innocent, but clumsy” victim “for spoiled work. Usually this amount is several times higher than the real value of the painting,” says Ireland.
The revealing video of the girl caused a strong reaction and outrage among users. Among the commentators were both eyewitnesses and victims of the trick.
“They aggressively make you pay. They grabbed my husband and yelled at him,” one of the subscribers complained.
Other users have shared advice on how to avoid conflict and not lose their money.
“You just call for help and refuse to pay,” recommended one commenter.
Another user said that he simply ran over a similar picture with a bicycle and rode on. Other commentators advised ignoring the attacks.
