According to the data presented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in general, for 2022, Germany “supplied” the most tourists to Turkey – 5 million 679 thousand. Russia dropped to second place with a result of 5 million 232 thousand tourists, adding almost 79% to its last year’s result increase in tourist flow.
The first three are closed by Great Britain – 3 million 370 thousand tourists and fantastic figures of increase in tourist flow – 758%. No wonder, because in 2021, Turkey was still closed to the British due to covid. Bulgaria and Iran follow.
In total, Turkey received 44.6 million “pure” foreign tourists, i.e. without the inclusion of holders of Turkish citizenship in these statistics. The increase was 71% by 2021.
