Picturesque Italian towns on the coast on the eve of the high season announce a massive fight against the bad habits of tourists that disturb residents. In Italy, tourists began to be fined 30,000 for selfies. The city of Positano on the Amalfi Coast in Italy announced the new measure.
The picturesque road that winds along the shore’s edge, against the background of slopes and local architecture, beckons tourists to take pictures of themselves. But it can be expensive. According to the Sun, local authorities have introduced fines for tourists who obstruct traffic to take a selfie. Penalties will be introduced in the peak season, and the fee for selfies in unauthorized places will be 275 euros
We will remind you that earlier similar events were announced by another picturesque Italian town – Portofino. The city hall introduced “red zones” where selfies are prohibited. Mainly the red zones are between Piazza Martiri del Olivetta and Calata Marconi Promenade, in the north, and between Piazza and Pier Umberto I in the south. Restrictions apply from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,” the publication writes.
Let us remind you that according to some studies, selfies turned out to be not only a harmful but also a dangerous habit. Read about it in the article “Selfies of tourists turned out to be more deadly than shark attacks.”
