Tourists vacationing in Guatemala have demonstrated in a video an unusual way of making pizza on an active volcano, reports Times Now.
American travel blogger Alexandra Blodgett shared a video from her trip to Guatemala on her social networks. She said that, together with a group of tourists, she tried an unusual pizza while climbing the active Pacaya volcano, which last erupted in 2021.
One of the guides accompanying the travelers put the dough on the hot ground, and in a few seconds it was ready. The traveler noted that “Pakai-style pizza” is always served hot.
The video quickly went viral with over 1.2 million views and 92,000 likes on Instagram.
In the comments to the post, users wrote that volcanic pizza should taste like sulfur. However, the tourist assured that the dish turned out to be very tasty.
Most commentators admired the unusual culinary trend:
“I would have done exactly the same. What a unique trend,” commented one user.
“This is amazing! Something we didn’t know about before but is now on my wishlist,” wrote another.
“Seriously, this is one of the coolest things we’ve seen,” another commenter opined.
True, the comments were not without critical users:
“This is the craziest tourist trap. People really have too much money,” one spectator reacted skeptically.
“Didn’t you see the documentary about the tourists who died in the eruption of an active volcano in New Zealand?” another user expressed concern.
“Such a cringe. Just, damn it, walk in the mountains and enjoy the moment,” the dissatisfied commentator advised.
