An unusually stubborn passenger on a TUI Airways flight refused to buckle up her child during the flight and forced the pilots to cut circles in the sky, reports the Manchester Evening News. Law enforcement officers were already waiting for the offender at the airport.
The plane was heading from the Greek island of Kos to Manchester on 21 June. The aircraft was supposed to take off at 13:25, but there was an unexpected six-hour delay. All because of the passenger and her child.
“Before we took off, the flight attendants checked the seat belts. One of the passengers simply refused to fasten the child,” an eyewitness tells the publication.
In the end, the woman was persuaded, but before landing, history repeated itself. The flight attendants reported the situation to the pilots, who refused to land the plane until the child was strapped in in accordance with safety regulations. The plane began to cut circles in the sky.
“Passengers screamed, got angry, told her to sit down and called her selfish. Only the captain of the aircraft managed to persuade her. As soon as we landed, the police entered the plane and took the woman away,” added the passenger of the flight.
The airline issued a statement following the incident.
“We confirm that flight TOM2309 experienced delays yesterday due to a nuisance passenger on board. The safety of our customers and crew is always our highest priority and we have a zero tolerance policy for disorderly conduct on our flights. aircraft. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience and understanding.”
