In Egypt, security measures in hotels will be tightened, in particular, the number of video cameras will be increased.
Cameras will be on all roads, driveways, gates, garages above and below the ground, as well as in public places where tourists gather: in lobbies, restaurants and bars, in playgrounds. Mobile cameras will be installed at all entrance groups of the facility and along the perimeter of the fences that mark its territory.
It is noted that the video system must provide accurate images of all visitors and vehicles, including at night.
Records from security cameras must be kept on the hotel’s server for 21 days and, if necessary, be available to law enforcement agencies.
New requirements for hotels are introduced after the poisoning of tourists at a hotel in Hurghada. Another reason can be considered fraud on the part of the guests themselves. For example, British tourists, wanting insurance, may “accidentally” fall on the territory of the hotel, then claiming that they slipped on the wet floor.
Also, during the latest inspections of resort hotels, it turned out that some of them do not have special rooms for isolating tourists with suspected coronavirus or with a mild form of the disease. The activity of one hotel was even suspended because of this, and the rest of the hoteliers were warned about the need to strictly follow the antique protocols. Otherwise, these accommodations may be closed.
