In Britain, tourists will begin to be taken to iconic sights on futuristic devices

The fight for the climate not only deprives tourists of air travel but also contributes to the development of fantastic projects. Another such project was announced in Great Britain, more precisely in Scotland. There they announced that they would start taking tourists to attractions on futuristic machines. It is about resuming the construction of airships.

As the Sun writes, it is about the Airlander 10 project, developed by the company Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV). It can carry 100 passengers or a payload of 10 tonnes, providing a comfortable journey with low emissions. At the same time, the new liner will be able to move at a speed of about 128 km/h. And even though the new airship is planned to be the longest in the world at 94 meters, it will be able to fly from popular tourist spots in the Orkney and Shetland Islands, as well as other attractions, using existing airports.

However, according to the authors of the project, it is still necessary to invest less than 2 million pounds in infrastructure. These will be the costs of buying additional land in certain areas, as well as new equipment and lighting of landing sites. It is necessary to install mooring masts and ground anchors for tying airships.

HIAL and Orkney Council engineers carried out seven site surveys taking into account historical weather conditions at each site as well as runway infrastructure and landing complexity.

However, HAV said it could produce up to 24 new aircraft annually, and the work could support 1,200 jobs. “Airlander will be a very useful addition to the transportation ecosystem with minimal disruption, which can create new opportunities for economic growth and tourism development in the region, requiring only simple and inexpensive infrastructure modernization,” – assure the developers.
