Greece expects to start this year’s summer tourist season unusually early – from March 1. This was stated by the Minister of Tourism of Greece Vasilis Kikilias. He also said that restrictions on tourists would be eased, although they would only affect tourists from the European Union. Tourists with a “cunning” EU certificate who plan to travel to Greece no longer need to go through the testing process upon arrival. However, given Greece’s loyalty to Ukrainian tourists, this rule will probably soon be extended to our travelers.
“Greece is preparing to receive visitors to the summer season earlier than ever this year, from March 1. Greek tourism has shown excellent resilience over the past two years, sending a strong signal to travelers in our country about security, and this year it will do the same, “said the Minister of Tourism. Mr Kikilias added that the country’s tourism sector hopes to reach pre-pandemic levels in 2022.
It will be recalled that Ukrainian tourists were admitted to Greece. According to the current rules, to enter Greece, tourists, including vaccinated, are required to present a negative result of the antigen test not older than 24 hours or a PCR test result not older than 72 hours. These rules apply to all passengers, including children over the age of five.
