A 79-year-old tourist from Germany mixed up the exits at the Antalya airport, called on the wrong plane, and ended up in Moscow instead of Munich.
After a ten-day vacation in Antalya, Monika Nuremberg was returning home to Neufahrn, a city near Munich. While waiting to board at a Turkish airport, her flight was rescheduled to another boarding gate, where a German woman mistakenly queued up for a flight to Moscow.
Arriving in the capital of Russia, the pensioner waited for several hours to issue tickets for a flight to Germany. During a transfer at Istanbul Airport, the woman spent the night on a bench in the waiting room, and in the morning she successfully boarded a flight to Munich. In total, the journey to Munich took the tourist about 30 hours.
Now she intends to seek compensation from Turkish Airlines, which served the flight to Moscow, for letting her on a flight for which she was not registered.
