Four beaches in the Spanish province of Barcelona were temporarily closed on Thursday due to the presence of a shark offshore. This was announced on Twitter by the municipality of Sitges.
“Swimming on the beach is prohibited <…> due to the presence of a shark less than 100 meters from the shore,” the local authorities said in a publication. Now swimming on the beaches is already allowed.
According to the EFE agency, most likely, we are talking about the mako shark, whose body length can reach 4.5 m.
