Russian tourists who bought tickets from the Finnish airline FinnAir are faced with a denial of registration for flights to Helsinki.
Five Russians were unable to fly from Dusseldorf airport to the capital of Finland this weekend. At the same time, at least two of them had a residence permit in Germany, and the purpose of the trip was business. Nevertheless, they were denied boarding the flight at the check-in and baggage check-in stage.
“They said that according to the new law, Russians are not imprisoned. For what – they did not specify, ”passengers explained.
Also, two citizens of the Russian Federation with Austrian visas could not travel on a FinnAir flight from Vienna to Helsinki. The carrier’s employees explained that now Russians are not allowed to fly to Finland.
The situation is connected with the new decree of the government of the republic. Since September 30, Finland has restricted entry into the country and further transit to Europe for Russian citizens with Schengen visas. The ban applies, in particular, to tourist trips and does not apply to those who go to the republic for work, study, visits to medical facilities, or meetings with relatives.
It should be noted that from September 27, Ryanair does not allow Russian citizens flying to Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania from outside the Schengen zone on board.
