According to the Anadolu news agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the opening of the new Zangilan International Airport in Azerbaijan will take place on October 20.
The head of Turkey promised that together with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, he would solemnly open this air harbor.
Zangilan International Airport is the second airport after Fizuli, built-in Karabakh and East Zangezur. Construction began in the spring of 2021. The runway will be 3,000 meters long and 60 meters wide. The airport terminal will be able to handle 200 passengers per hour.
The airport has already received international ICAO and IATA codes (UBBZ and ZZE respectively), as well as all EUROCONTROL navaid call signs.
