Egyptian meteorologists warned tourists holidaying in Sharm el-Sheikh that “frost will arrive at midnight.” We are, of course, not talking about resorts — the coldest weather is expected in the popular excursion destinations of Sinai: as the Egyptian press states, citing data from the Center for Operational and Crisis Management at the headquarters of the Sinai province, “frosts” by Egyptian standards are expected in the Monastery of St. Catherine, and also on the mountain of Moses.
Note that according to statistics, approximately half of the tourists in Sharm go on an excursion either to the monastery of St. Catherine or to Mount Moses. And if the monastery is usually visited during the day, then the main “trick” of Mount Sinai is meeting the dawn.
Thus, according to meteorologists, the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh recorded the highest average temperature — more precisely, the maximum temperature reaches 26, and the minimum night temperature is 17 degrees. At the same time, in the city of St. Catherine, the temperature is, accordingly, the lowest: the maximum reaches 20, the minimum — 6 degrees. Moreover, it is even colder on Mount Moses.
“The atmosphere in St. Catherine’s is warm during the day and begins to gradually cool as night falls until it reaches freezing temperatures at midnight. Tourists who climb Mount Moses to watch the sunrise should wear warm clothes, drink warm liquids to provide energy to the body, and follow the instructions of the Bedouin guide to ensure their safety,” the Egyptians advise.
