Demand for adventure tourism will quadruple

Експерти повідомили, що попит на пригодницький туризм зросте вчетверо

Adventure tourism is on the rise and demand will quadruple by 2032, Breaking Travel news reports.

According to Future Market Insights, adventure tourism covers everything from scuba diving, rafting, trekking, cycling, and caving to everything related to integration into the natural environment, including immersion in culture.

According to the report, adventure tourism is gaining momentum thanks to the desire of people to explore new places, as well as the fact that flights are becoming available both domestically and abroad.

Another key factor in the development of the adventure tourism market can be considered the growing demand for authentic and individual travel.

Due to its high adaptability, the ability to support the economy, and the promotion of sustainable practices, adventure tourism is becoming more popular around the world than traditional mass tourism.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, the industry was growing. From 2017 to 2021, it had a CAGR of 10 percent and generated $290 billion in sales. Now adventure travel companies are once again offering special and personalized trips to different parts of the globe as countries begin to reopen to foreigners. Aggressive advertising from travel companies, as well as companies investing in websites to make bookings convenient for users, increases adventure tourism revenues.

According to the report, among the categories of adventure tourism, “soft adventures” are more popular. These are outdoor or recreational travels undertaken to remote or unconventional places to gain new experiences, explore cultures and natural wonders, or participate in various harsh events. This includes trekking, hiking, cycling, wildlife watching, cultural walks, history, camping, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, scuba diving, boat tours, winery visits, nature exploration, and horseback riding.

“Mild adventures” have a low level of risk and therefore have become popular among adventure lovers. For the same reason, they are well suited for older travelers who are still looking for adventure. Overall, this category currently accounts for 60 percent of the entire adventure travel market.
