The tourist season is in full swing. The beaches of the Black Sea coast are crowded with tourists and lovers of beach holidays.
“The season is going well, most hotels are full. The question arises, at what price and for how long? Interestingly, the profile of tourists is changing. We used to rely on charter tourism, but now the resorts are full of local cars, which puts a new issue on the agenda – parking spaces, “said the head of the Varna Tourist Chamber Ilin Dimitrov.
According to Dimitrov, the COVID-19 pandemic caused an unprecedented tourist boom at sea. Measures against coronavirus are followed, and the number of infected is relatively small. However, the situation with staff shortages is deteriorating. Not many resorts on the Black Sea coast can boast of almost one hundred percent filling of the bed stock.
“Of the 1.2 million places to stay, almost all are occupied. Tourists from Germany, Austria, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Belarus, Israel, Romania and, of course, our compatriots predominate. We have tourists everywhere, even in small towns full of people “, – the governor of Burgas prof. Maria Neykova.
She noted that currently 2,700 flights have been made at Bourgas Airport. It is expected that by the end of the season there will be about 7600.
