The British airline Virgin Atlantic has amended the rules for wearing a uniform. Crew members can now choose clothing that matches their self-identification.
“That is, a male pilot can easily change his trousers to a skirt, and a female stewardess can put on a trouser suit,” Life reports.
The company said in a statement that anyone can conquer the world regardless of how they identify themselves. At Virgin Atlantic, we believe it’s important to protect the individuality of our employees.
The airline uniform from 2014 was designed by Vivienne Westwood. Virgin Atlantic also treats passengers with understanding: when buying tickets, anyone can designate themselves as a gender-neutral person.
