The passenger of the plane admitted his guilt in court for assaulting an EasyJet flight attendant during a flight. It is reported by the Manchester Evening News.
It is specified that the incident occurred on a flight from Manchester to Malta. During the flight, 51-year-old Colin Smith, who was flying on vacation with his lover, drank too much whiskey and began to behave aggressively.
When the flight attendant saw the tourist getting up from his seat to go to the toilet, she asked him to take his seat, because at that time the plane was descending and the “fasten seat belts” light board was on. However, Smith got angry, grabbed the airline employee by the throat with both hands, and began to choke.
The flight attendant pushed him away, and the passenger fell into fellow travelers sitting nearby, who began to restrain him so that he would not attack the crew member again. At this point, the stewardess asked the woman accompanying Smith if he had a mental disorder, to which she replied: “I told him not to drink this whiskey.”
A week after the incident, the violator was detained and interrogated. He admitted to the police that he drank three-quarters of a bottle of whiskey and was 9 out of 10 drunk. It is clarified that the incident occurred in March, but court hearings, in this case, are still ongoing. At the last meeting, Smith pleaded guilty to assaulting a flight attendant.
