Austin Wells, a 28-year-old employee of Meta, took a 12-year lease on a cabin on a cruise ship. The New York Post writes about it.
The San Diego resident does not like long flights but loves to travel, so he decided to rent a cabin on the MV Narrative ocean liner with an area of 22 sq. m. Austin Wells paid $ 300 thousand for the use of the premises for 12 years.
“It’s like owning an apartment. I’m moving from this model where you want to go somewhere, pack your suitcase, get on a plane, rent a room, to now my apartment, my gym, my doctors and dentists, and all my grocery stores travel the world with me. ‘, he explained.
The Americans will work remotely and travel around European countries for the next three years.
Alistair Punton, CEO of Storylines, which builds the MV Narrative, also wants to live on board. He plans to move to it with his wife and two children as soon as the liner is ready to sail in 2025.
In addition to the basic amenities of a cruise ship, MV Narrative will feature co-working spaces, medical facilities, a farmer’s market, 24-hour room service, and more.
