A couple on a romantic vacation in Colorado claims that they managed to film the mythical creature – Bigfoot – on a video camera, reports the NewYork Post.
In the video, the creature wanders along the mountainside and then sits down to rest – all this happens during daylight hours.
Witnesses Shannon and Stetson Parker were celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. They claim to have seen the legendary Bigfoot while on an excursion on the train line between Durango and Silverton, in southwestern Colorado.
“We were looking for a moose in the mountains, and my husband saw something moving and could not explain it. Then he said: “Bigfoot!” The creature was 6-7 feet tall or even higher. It blended with the color of the mountains and was practically invisible” said 44-year-old Shannon.
Parker notes that some have questioned the veracity of her words, suggesting that it was a hunter in natural camouflage or a prank orchestrated by locals to taunt unsuspecting tourists.
“The creature did not look like a hunter, because a hunter would definitely have a weapon with him,” she added. “He had nothing in his hands.”
People who claim to have seen Bigfoot describe it in various ways: as a large, upright ape or even as a hairy man who sometimes reaches eight feet in height and has a powerful build.
The University of Arizona also suggests that the Bigfoot legend may come from an extinct giant ape known as Gigantopithecus, which coexisted with early humans.
