A couple – a man and a woman – caused a riot on an Eva Air flight flying from London to Bangkok. The pilots had to turn the plane around in the air, and for the peace of mind of the passengers, they had to tape the rowdy to the seat with tape, the Daily Mail reports.
According to airline employees, the couple behaved inappropriately from the very beginning. When boarding the flight, the girl took a seat in business class, although she had an economy ticket. At the same time, she refused to pay extra for an upgrade to the service class. Her companion was no inferior to her in terms of violating the rules of conduct on an aircraft: he smoked an electronic cigarette.
The couple reacted very violently to all the flight attendants’ comments: they swore and even attacked the aircraft workers with their fists. Eight passengers came to the aid of the stewards, who helped calm down the rowdies. For the peace of mind of those around him, the man was taped to the chair with tape.
During the incident, the pilots decided to abort the flight and turned the plane around. They had to fly two hours to Vienna to disembark the restless passengers.
It is noted that after they were escorted off the plane and handed over to the police, they began to quarrel again, but among themselves. The reason for their quarrel was money. At some point, the lady pulled out a stack of bills and threw them at her companion. The police helped the man collect them, however, as law enforcement officers noted, some of the bills flew away.
Due to the boorish and inappropriate behavior of two passengers, the rest of the people flying to Bangkok had to stay in Vienna for a day. They were able to reach their destination only the next day.
