A “long seasonal depression”, that is, an area of reduced atmospheric pressure, will determine the weather over Egypt shortly, including in the resorts. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center of the General Directorate of Meteorology of Egypt, stated this in the Egyptian media.
The consequence of this guest, who goes to Egypt from India, will be a significant increase in humidity during the day, which, the Egyptians say, helps to better survive the high temperatures. However, this is a rather strange explanation, because the heat is easier to bear precisely at low humidity.
Also, the Indian depression will cause the appearance of strong winds over the entire territory of Egypt in the evening. Which, on the one hand, will cool down tourists, and on the other hand, will lead to high waves on the Red Sea, which can hinder sea excursions and recreation at sea: as a result of waves, 2.5 meters high, the port of Sharm el-Sheikh has already been closed.
As for the weather, intense heat is expected in Sharm el-Sheikh this week – up to +37-38 degrees. It will not be possible to cool down at night either – it will not be below +29. Tourists are also warned about the active sun: it is better not to go outside or on the beach at all during the day.
In Hurghada, it is a little “cooler”: during the day it is about +35-36, and at night – the same +29. The water in the Red Sea is also warmed up to +29 degrees. By the way, it is still cooler than in much more northern Antalya. Read details in the article “In Antalya, tourists lost the opportunity to cool off in the sea.”
