The Bulgarian authorities have decided to declare the abolition of anti-war measures, including the “green pass”, without waiting for mass protests. For incoming tourists, they really want to keep it, at least until March 20 – and, hopefully in Bulgaria, in the season the country will receive its money from tourists.
Note: Britain is ahead of the rest of the world in terms of lifting the tough restrictions, followed by Germany and Italy are ready to scrap their green certificates. According to Bulgarian media, the authorities “rioted” on the eve of a nationwide protest, which they planned to organize two days later – according to their definition, the “far-right pro-Russian Renaissance Party”, which uses public resistance to measures against COVID-19 to the EU. . As Prime Minister Kirill Petkov said on Monday, Bulgaria will completely abolish the green pass on March 20 and will start mitigating many measures this week. And also in the near future will facilitate the entry of tourists.
The details are as follows: from February 24, shop and restaurant owners will serve customers without a green certificate at their own discretion. The requirement for a green pass remains only for employees. From March 5, all customers will be served without the requirements of the green certificate. From March 20, the green pass will be abolished completely, including for employees. At the same time, the government promised businesses, including tourism, that “economic support measures will continue until the end of June.”
At the same time, on March 5, the country promised to open the entrance to all foreign travelers who have a green certificate. And from March 20, this rule will be abolished – that is, the “vaccine pass” will be needed only by Bulgarians who have gathered in those countries that “anti-cancer” barriers will remain, and access to the country will be simplified. The move, the Black Sea country hopes, will boost its tourism industry.
