A peaceful boat trip almost ended in tragedy: three killer whales surrounded a couple of young people and made social media users nervous.
The Latin American publication SDPNoticias drew attention to a popular video on TikTok: three killer whales turned a serene sea trip of tourists on a boat from “calm” to “terrifying”. Marine predators made both the vacationers themselves and those who watched the video on the social network nervous.
The events took place in the Argentine city of Puerto de Madryn, in northern Patagonia, the video was shared on TikTok by user @paoloosta. While rowing in the sea, he and his girlfriend managed to capture the moment when three majestic killer whales approached their ship.

In the video, you can see how the man and his lover became nervous when they realized that they were surrounded by predators. Off-screen, a woman’s nervous laughter is heard warning her boyfriend that curious animals are right under the boat.
“Despite the fact that for several seconds the pair were accompanied by killer whales, they did not lose their calm in the face of the danger they had to endure,” the publication notes.
In the end, the killer whales behaved quite peacefully and soon left. The TikTok community reacted very emotionally to the video: it has collected more than 32 million views and about 74 thousand comments.
Some commentators were horrified by what was happening in the frame. Many claimed that they would have panicked and did not know what to do in such a stressful situation.

Some also noted that the woman remained calm, positive, and even comforted her partner, who was more nervous than she was.
