In India, at the Ramdaha waterfall in Chhattisgarh, almost half of the members of one family drowned, who tried to save their relative, who fell into the water by negligence. Mirror writes about it.
The tragedy occurred on August 28 during a walk of 15 members of the same family. 14-year-old Shraddha Singh, along with her older sister, wanted to take a dangerous selfie at the top of the waterfall, but lost her balance and fell, while the girl’s carelessness also turned into a fatal fall for her sister.
The first to help the girls were their brother, cousin, and his wife – holding hands, they jumped down to try to find and pull the sisters out of the water. A little later, two other family members did the same. According to witnesses, the relatives floundered in deep water for some time, but only the cousin’s wife managed to be saved – the rest drowned.
Three bodies were discovered that same evening, and three more family members were dragged out the next day. It is noted that the area of the waterfalls is dangerous for swimming, numerous prohibition signs warn tourists about this.
