Thailand’s Covid-19 Situation Management Center on Friday decided to gradually ease controls on Covid-19 for foreign visitors starting April 1, shortening or abolishing quarantine periods and increasing their range.
CCSA spokesman Tavisilp Visanuyotin said visitors would not be required to present fit-to-fly documents from April 1.
From April 1 to September 30, the quarantine facilities will remain in working order.
From October 1, they will be replaced by devices for “vigilant surveillance”, and at airports, on transport routes, in tourist destinations and settlements located near tourist facilities, “bubble and seals” measures will be introduced.
From 1 April to 30 June, quarantine guests will be allowed to leave their rooms to go to the gym, outdoor area, swimming pool and controlled cycling areas.
From July 1 to September 30, they will be able to dine in the restaurants of their hotels and do a wellness massage.
From October 1, quarantine will be required only for people coming from certain areas.
As for the duration of the quarantine, Dr. Tavisilp said that from April 1 to September 30, arrivals without a vaccination certificate (VC) and (CFC) will be quarantined for 10 days and will be tested twice for the virus.
Arrivals from VC and CFC will be quarantined for seven days and checked once. Those who have a VC but no CFC will be tested twice.
According to Dr. Tavisilpa, the 14-day quarantine period will remain for those arriving from areas where the Covid-19 virus mutation occurred.
