A fire broke out near the Russian embassy in Bucharest this morning after a car crashed into a fence and caught fire, Digi 24 reported.
The driver, who was alone in the car, died. Firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire.
Sources close to the investigation told television that it could be an intentional act. It is assumed that the driver went straight to the front door and crashed into the fence.
Earlier, the security guard on duty warned him to leave the scene. According to the officer, the car crashed into the wall at high speed.
According to the Ziare website, the driver of the car shouted a “threatening message” before crashing into the embassy fence.
Traffic in the area was blocked.
