For the second day in a row, the Russian authorities are registering more than 800 deaths from the coronavirus. These are the maximum values since the beginning of the pandemic. Over the past day, according to official data, 815 infected people have died, more than 22 thousand infected have been identified. Most of all new cases of COVID-19 are in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow region.
Moscow and the Moscow region are among the leaders among the regions of Russia in terms of vaccination. In the capital, according to the operational headquarters, more than 4.5 million people have been vaccinated. Sociologists, however, also note a high level of mistrust in vaccines in society.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a significant decrease in the workload of hospitals. According to him, thanks to vaccination, the number of hospitalized with COVID-19 has been halved. Under these conditions, despite the peak in mortality, the city authorities canceled the obligatory teleworking for 30% of employees of enterprises and organizations.
