Nine patients with COVID-19 died as a result of a ruptured oxygen tube at a hospital in Vladikavkaz, the capital of the Republic of North Ossetia, according to AFP, citing the Russian Ministry of Health.
The victims died due to lack of oxygen caused by the rupture of the pipe of the system that supplies them with oxygen.
At the time of the incident, there were 71 patients in the intensive care unit of the hospital. 13 of them were placed on ventilators, nine of them died in the accident.
The problem was quickly identified, and other patients were not affected by oxygen cylinders and additional oxygen sources.
