Gas transit through Ukraine should be continued after 2024, the extension of the agreement should be discussed. This was stated on Sunday by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Kiev after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to her, this process should start as soon as possible. Berlin will support this process, Merkel said.
She also noted that Germany takes Ukraine’s concerns about Nord Stream 2 seriously.
