A Norwegian government statement explains the situation. It turns out that many countries still require citizens returning from abroad to test negative for COVID-19. Thus, persons who are to be deported under the laws of Norway may become delinquents in their home country without being pre-tested.
Therefore, officials propose to activate temporary legal provisions that will be in effect until July 1, 2023.
In addition, according to the statement, Norway may well resume testing tests on all travelers in the coming months.
A total of 1,430,841 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Norway since the start of the coronavirus outbreak, with a total of 3,094 deaths, according to data provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).
As of May 15, 2022, a total of 11,305,805 vaccine doses have been administered in the country.
Despite the rapid spread of new varieties of coronavirus, the Norwegian authorities were among the first to lift all measures and restrictions. This happened back in February 2022.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health made a footnote: all persons who show any symptoms are required to undergo mandatory testing.
At the moment, many European countries have lifted most of the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus.
