This is possible thanks to the fact that the Ukrainian passport service DP Dokument operates in four cities in Poland. We tell you what services you can use in this institution.
Passport service in Poland
Producing passport documents is one of the most important problems for Ukrainians living abroad. Currently, this has become easier, because there are already four institutions of DP Dokument operating in Poland. Moreover, it is planned that institutions of this service will start working in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Turkey.
The opening of passport services in Poland became possible thanks to Resolution No. 678 of June 10, 2022. We are talking about the implementation of an experimental project regarding the issuance of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad for citizens of Ukraine who are outside Ukraine.
Currently, Ukrainians can produce documents in the:
- Krakow: Plac Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego;
- Warsaw: Aleje Jerozolimskie 179;
- Gdańsk: Aleja Grunwaldzka 415
- Wroclaw: Tarczyński Arena.
In institutions, it is possible to produce a passport of a citizen of Ukraine (ID card) and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad, to exchange a driver’s license for a new one, or to produce a driver’s license, as well as to use the function of sending documents.
On January 30, a new passport service opened in Krakow. It is located at Pawia 5. It is near the train station in the shopping center Galeria Krakowska. To find the passport service, you need to go up to the second floor. At the same time, the document processing point near the station building will also accept visitors.
To get to the reception in Wrocław, you need to drive up to the Tarczyński Arena and go to sector A3. Next, you need to go down to the underground parking lot. At the old address, the DP Document service no longer provides services in Wroclaw.
To use the services of the service, you can register online in the electronic queue, or come in person and join the live queue. The service is open from Monday to Saturday, inclusive, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Payment for all services is made on the spot using a card. If you have a foreign card, make sure you can make a payment in hryvnias. There is no cash payment.
At the Citizen Service Center, you can make all the same documents that are made at other points.
Working hours: from Monday to Saturday, from 9 to 18. You can join the live queue or sign up for the electronic one. The link to the e-queue is above.
How to make a passport in Poland
In the DP service, the document can be produced as a foreign passport or an ID card. And it is even possible to produce both documents at the same time. It is also possible to issue a children’s passport (up to 16 years old). Prices for documents vary in the following range:
- Production of a foreign passport. Urgent – UAH 1,496 + PLN 370 service fee. Non-urgent – 856 hryvnias + 370 zlotys service fee;
- Production of an ID card. Urgent – 820 hryvnias + 370 zlotys service fee. Non-urgent – 450 hryvnias + 370 zlotys service fee.
The term of production of documents will take from 20 to 45 working days. But due to the huge demand, these terms may increase.
To issue a passport, you need to submit the following documents:
- Passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- TIN (identification number);
- Application form (to be filled out on the spot);
- If there are, previously issued foreign passports;
- If your passport was stolen – an extract from the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations.
- If you received your passport in a territory not controlled by Ukraine, you need to take any document that contains your image. You will find a complete list of documents that may be suitable at the link.
How to exchange a driver’s license in Poland
Another service provided by DP Dokument is the exchange or production of a new driver’s license. The certificate is exchanged if:
- Your driver’s license has lost its appearance and this makes it impossible to use it further (for example, it is impossible to read records, etc.);
- The personal data of the owner has changed (for example, surname, first name, patronymic, gender);
- There is a need to specify personal data in Latin letters, change the digitized facial expression, etc.
Such a service will cost you 254 hryvnias + 420 zlotys service fee. The term for which a new certificate is issued is 30 years. The driver’s license is printed on the spot and issued immediately after registration.
You can exchange your driver’s license directly at the stationary service center, but according to a different schedule (differs from the center’s schedule in general): Tue-Fri: 10:00−17:00, Sat: 10:00−15:30, Sun, Mon. – weekends.
Documents required to issue a new driver’s license:
- Passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- Certificate of assignment of the registration number of the taxpayer’s account card;
- Your existing driver’s license;
- If you have changed your data – a document confirming this;
- Medical certificate confirming your ability to drive a vehicle (form 083/o). But currently, due to martial law, it is not required.
How to forward ready documents from Ukraine to Poland
Another service that can be used at DP Dokument is the forwarding of ready-made passport documents. To use this service, you do not need to register in advance. But remember that only the person who issued the documents in his name can use the service. But if we are talking about a minor, the application is submitted by a parent or guardian.
The price of the service is PLN 150. As part of this service, you can forward all the documents you have drawn up. Remittance is possible in all cities where the passport service operates.
