Ukrainian police will patrol Turkish resorts during the tourist season. But not alone, but together with Turkish colleagues. The reason is to solve the problems of Ukrainian vacationers in their native language. According to Turkish media, the proposal was discussed at a meeting led by Ambassador to Kyiv of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Gulderi and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Hakobyan.
“Apart from ensuring public order, we strive to support our citizens by providing language, information and methodological assistance to Turkish police in communicating with Ukrainian tourists,” Hakobyan said.
According to her, such experience has been successfully implemented by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in Croatia since 2014 within the framework of the Safe Tourist Season project. According to the publications, the meeting focused on active cooperation between the border agencies of both countries to monitor the situation in the Black Sea.
In addition, the question of the need to strengthen cooperation between agencies in the context of tourism development was raised, as the percentage of refusals to cross the state border of Ukraine by Turkish citizens has increased by 13% over the past year. The parties also discussed the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Turkey in the field of information protection and cybersecurity, combating trafficking in human beings and drugs.
