The concept of the event has already been prepared and presented to the international jury. In addition to our country, Rome (Italy), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Busan (Republic of Korea) and Moscow (Russia) are applying for the event.
This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov.
“Expo in Ukraine is our chance to show ourselves and get support from all over the world. We are ready to make all the necessary efforts to adequately accept this ambitious project. We will do everything to ensure that the world sees our openness, great potential and readiness for change, ”Fedorov said.
According to him, the results of the competition for holding Expo 2030 will be known only at the end of 2023. The minister stressed that if Ukraine wins, it will receive several “pluses”: investments, advertising both in the domestic and international markets, and a huge number of tourists.
“Expo always attracts large international partners. In this way, preparation costs are reduced to those planned for infrastructure development. Let me remind you that we are talking about a project, preparation for which lasts 7 years, “Fedorov emphasized.
He noted that 6 million people came to the first Expo, now – 30 million. Even if everyone leaves $ 100 in Ukraine, we are talking about $ 3 billion.
“And most importantly, holding a world exhibition can become a powerful impetus for development, draw the world’s attention to the demonstrated capabilities of the country and its potential,” Fedorov said.
The World Expo is a large-scale international event in which countries demonstrate their achievements in innovation, technological development (it was for the Expo that the Eiffel Tower was once built). Also, countries present their culture, traditions, offer their vision of the future.
The event takes place once every five years. The competition of the cities that want to host the exhibition starts almost 10 years before the date, so that the winner has time to prepare.
Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to apply for Ukraine’s participation in the selection of Expo 2030, and the corresponding letter signed by the Prime Minister was officially submitted to the International Bureau of Exhibitions in Paris.
