Despite the military situation, Ukrainian children still need health improvement and recreation at sea. When choosing a foreign resort for a vacation in the summer of 2023, it is important for many Ukrainians that there are no Russian tourists there.
Many countries have introduced entry bans for Russian tourists, but most beach destinations remain accessible. TRAVEL RBC-Ukraine offers a list of resorts where the chances of meeting citizens of the aggressor country are minimal.
Egypt – resorts only for Europeans
This year, Russian tour operators plan to offer Egypt as an alternative to Turkey, where prices will rise. There are plans to launch new flights to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.
However, according to Cairo24, there are practically no Russian tourists at two resorts – Hurghada and Marsa Alam. Their place was taken by tourists from Poland and Germany. Recently, Marsa Alam International Airport received about 4,000 tourists from 24 European flights on May 7 alone. Most flights were from Poland (6), Czech Republic (5), Italy (6), Germany (3), Switzerland (1) and Belgium (1).
By the way, before the start of the war, Marsa Alam was one of the most popular resorts for Ukrainians, mainly due to the absence of Russian tourists.
Türkiye – the coast, where the Russian language sounds less often
It is not easy to find a place in Turkey where there are no Russian tourists at all. The country is making efforts to establish charter flights from Russia to its resorts. The resorts on the Mediterranean coast of the province of Antalya remain the most popular among Russian tourists. However, on the coast of the Aegean Sea, traditionally, Russian tourists are less interested. The water in this part of the sea is cooler, the bottom is rocky, and the atmosphere is calm and picturesque bays attract mainly Europeans. In addition, hotel prices here are 1.5-2 times higher than in Antalya. However, in the summer of 2023, charter flights from Russia to this part of the Turkish resorts are also planned.
Russian tourist resources recommend choosing resorts where mostly Europeans rest, where employees speak English or German, and Russian citizens can enjoy the lack of communication with their compatriots and plunge into a different language environment. Some of these resorts include:
- Side, Cesme and Kusadasi, preferred by the British and Germans;
- Kemer, where the Dutch, Italians and Germans predominate;
- Marmaris and Oludeniz, which are preferred by the British.
These resorts offer Ukrainian tourists the opportunity to enjoy their holidays surrounded by Europeans and plunge into a different language environment, freed from communication with Russian tourists.
