The Moldovan authorities have changed the rules for entering the country in connection with the coronavirus. Citizens arriving in Moldova from a number of countries and regions will again be forced to quarantine, MOLDOVAinform reports.
The decision by the National Public Health Commission takes effect Monday.
By the decision of the authorities, all states from which citizens of Moldova will come will be divided into red and green zones. Regions where the infection rate over the past two weeks will not exceed 100 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants will be considered green.
Visitors from the Green Zone must present a negative PCR test. Otherwise, they are required to quarantine for two weeks.
An exception is made for vaccinated citizens, if more than two weeks have passed since the introduction of the second dose, as well as for children and minors.
Self-isolation is also exempted from drivers who carry passengers if the transport is designed for more than nine seats, truck service personnel, as well as those who travel for treatment or by court order.
Those arriving from the red zones are required to spend two weeks in quarantine. The exception is holders of vaccination certificates and children under six years of age. For children from 7 to 18 years old, it is necessary to present a negative PCR test.
Those who have been ill with covid will also be released from self-isolation if they show a document confirming the presence of antibodies. Citizens who are on self-isolation can do a PCR test on the 7th day. If the result is negative, the quarantine will end early.
The list of countries in the red and green zones will be published on the website of the Ministry of Health and other government agencies. The list will be updated every Friday and will take effect on the following Monday.
