The first case of monkeypox detected in Cyprus

The Ministry of Health of Cyprus has identified the first case of monkeypox on the island.

The patient was a 40-year-old man who had previously traveled abroad. All the symptoms of monkeypox were found in him, this was confirmed by a study at the microbiological laboratory in Nicosia.

Doctors “implemented the appropriate protocols” from the first moment of treatment. The man is isolated in a hospital in Nicosia, he is being monitored by specialists.
