The effect of the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 weakens after five months

Reuters reports that those who have been vaccinated with Pfizer / BioNTech are more likely to become infected with the new coronavirus five or more months after the second injection than those who have been vaccinated before.

The study involved nearly 34,000 fully vaccinated people in Israel who were tested for a new corovanvirus.

1.8% gave a positive test result. In all age groups, the probability of infection was higher if the second dose was received at least 146 days ago. The risk of infection is almost three times higher in people over 60 years five months after the second dose. According to one of the authors, Dr. Eugene Merzon, most of the infected were found recently.
