Pfizer has announced that it will soon begin testing the vaccine in infants, according to Reuters.
The pharmaceutical company, together with its German partner, the creator of the first vaccine against COVID-19, is testing 4,500 volunteer children in more than 90 cities in the United States, Finland, Poland and Spain.
Children aged 5 to 11 years will receive two doses of 10 micrograms each, which is about a third of the dose used for adolescents and adults. Some will be given a placebo.
Tests in 6-month-old infants will begin in a few weeks and they will receive a dose of 3 micrograms.
By September, you can expect results for children 5-11 years, and for younger, later.
