According to a study by British experts, cited by Medical Express, people with the new coronavirus have problems concentrating and think more slowly.
Evidence of cognitive problems after COVID-19 was found in a joint study by scientists from the Imperial and Royal Colleges of London and Cambridge University. They tested more than 80,000 people, of whom about 13,000 were suspected of being infected.
The data show that people who have had a more serious illness have lower scores on online tests, with their ability to think and solve problems suffering the most. In addition, they find it difficult to concentrate.
The most serious cognitive problems were found in people who were on mechanical ventilation during hospital treatment with COVID-19.
The researchers emphasize that it cannot be concluded that these problems are long-term, as the volunteers were examined shortly after they fell ill.
The results of the study are published in the journal Iclinical Medicine.
