China has rejected calls by the World Health Organization to resume its investigation into the origin of COVID-19, according to AFP.
Beijing says it supports “scientific” rather than “political” efforts to find out the truth about the coronavirus.

“We oppose political persecution and reject the joint report that was published after a group of WHO experts visited Wuhan in January,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu.
It was from Wuhan in late 2019 that the first reports of a mysterious infectious disease appeared.
