WHO experts announced the possibility of a new “mass vaccination”. Moreover, an alarm signal sounded for tourism – the most popular resorts for tourists on warm seas will be under attack.
The reason is “diseases carried by mosquitoes” appear to be migrating to new countries due to climate change. Therefore, the risk of declaring a new pandemic is quite visible.
“Mass vaccination may be needed to combat mosquito-borne diseases as infected insects migrate to new countries due to climate change,” said a representative of the organization. We are talking about diseases such as dengue fever, chikungunya, and the Zika virus, carried by Aedes albopictus mosquitoes from Southeast Asia.
The UN also assures that climate change “endangers” European countries, which may face a “record number of infections” from insects. We will remind you that the cases of tropical diseases began to increase in the Mediterranean, in some regions of Spain it was already necessary to declare war against mosquitoes.
“If this continues, there will be more cases of infection and possibly more deaths from diseases such as dengue or West Nile,” said Andrea Ammon, director of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control. So, the threat of “mass vaccination” again looms over tourism.
