Mass food poisoning was recorded in a hotel in the “tourist capital” of Montenegro, the city of Budva, the republic’s national television RTCG reported.
According to him, 96 foreign tourists were poisoned by food. Dozens of people were hospitalized.
It is noted that on Friday evening, 30 patients with acute diarrheal syndrome and vomiting were brought to the Kotor hospital.
“Comprehensive diagnostics was carried out. All patients were discharged in a normal condition,” said the head physician of the Kotor hospital, Davor Kumburovich.
Also during the day, tourists from Croatia, Poland, and Italy turned to hospitals in the cities of Cetinje, Bar, and Kotor, who were passing through the hotel.
Montenegrin health services have not yet commented on the incident. According to the channel, foreign embassies in Podgorica and the relevant ministry have joined in helping their fellow citizens.
