How the Maldives launched a vaccination campaign for tourists

Visit Maldives has launched a new campaign called “I’m vaccinated”.

The project aims to share a positive message about the vaccination of staff working in the tourism sector, as well as to promote initiatives to ensure that the Maldives remains one of the safest destinations for travelers.

The goal of this campaign is to make the Maldives the world’s first fully vaccinated tourism industry.

Along with the unique geographical formation of the islands, which provide natural physical remoteness, as well as strict health and safety measures in the field, a fully vaccinated tourism sector will be an additional advantage to encourage tourists to visit this area.

The campaign was launched during a press conference organized by Visit Maldives and the Ministry of Tourism of the Maldives.

The event was joined by the Minister of Tourism of the Maldives, the Minister of Health, the Secretary General of the Association of Guest Houses of the Maldives and the Deputy Chairman of the Maldives Association of the Tourism Industry.

The event began with an introductory speech by the Minister of Tourism of the Maldives Abdullah Mausum, who noted the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism industry.

He emphasized the enormous sacrifices, efforts and hard work of the healthcare, tourism and all members of Maldivian society.

The microsite will display a counter showing the number of tourism workers who have been vaccinated and provide staff with information on how to register for vaccination, as well as the latest HPA instructions.

The campaign aims to convince travelers that the Maldives continues to be one of the safest destinations for travel in the current climate, and will show visitors the tremendous efforts and investments the country has made to ensure the safety of both locals and travelers.

The vaccination program in the Maldives began in February, and the government intends to provide free vaccination against Covid-19 to all Maldives in the coming months.
