Ambassador of Kazakhstan met with the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience

On February 5 this year Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Darkhan Kaletaev met with Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience Olena Bogdan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the ethnopolitical and religious situation in Kazakhstan and Ukraine, the possibility of establishing cooperation between the countries in the spiritual, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan D. Kaletaev noted the presence of common values ​​of the two countries and the fact that the basis for further strengthening of relations is the personality of the First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, who was trained in Ukraine, which became his “working homeland”.

The Kazakhstani part informed about the infrastructure of the Kazakh model of interethnic and interfaith harmony, including the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, about the forthcoming next year’s Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

The Ukrainian part has expressed interest in the Kazakh experience of preserving peace and harmony between different ethnic and religious groups. O. Bogdan emphasized that Ukraine is closely monitoring Kazakhstan’s transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin alphabet. They also noted interest in Kazakhstan’s experience in organizing the Hajj.

The Ambassador proposed to organize a visit to Kazakhstan of a delegation of the Ukrainian department responsible for ethnopolitics and freedom of conscience, in order to get acquainted with the points of interest on the spot, including the possibility of holding meetings with the APK, relevant institutions and departments of executive state bodies, visiting places of compact residence of Ukrainians in the regions of Kazakhstan.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of holding events aimed at consolidating the Kazakh diaspora in Ukraine.
