The powerful typhoon Nepartak, which is forming in the Pacific Ocean, continues to move towards Japan and on Wednesday morning local time will hit the northeastern part of the main island of Honshu, world agencies reported, citing the National Meteorological Administration of Japan.
According to bta.bg, the wind speed in the central part of the typhoon will reach 20 meters per second, and gusts – up to 30-35 meters per second.
Now Nepartak is located 230 km southeast of Tokyo’s neighboring prefecture of Chiba and moves to the northeast, where, in particular, are the prefectures of Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate. Locals were warned about the danger of rivers and landslides.
Due to the impending catastrophe, some events of the Olympic Games in Tokyo were postponed to another date.
