Italy and France see rise in COVID-19 cases

According to European media, the number of cases of COVID-19 infection is growing in Italy and France.

So, in Italy, the daily number of infections for the first time since February 8 exceeded 100,000 people. A similar situation is observed in France, where more than 200,000 people fall ill with coronavirus every day. The French authorities have already announced the start of another wave of the pandemic.

Experts specify that the epidemiological situation in these countries is deteriorating due to the continued spread of the omicron virus variant in Europe, as well as the emergence of its new varieties – BA.4 and BA.5. It is expected that the peak of a new wave of coronavirus will occur in the last weeks of July.
